Welcome »
Welcome to dummyworld.net, an online archive of odd bits and bobs created by myself, Blake Robinson. You can navigate between the different areas of the site using the menu bar at the the top. A hierarchy of each section can normally be found in the faded section of the site on the left.
13th August 2010 » New KSP tutorial in the media section
There's a new tutorial in the media section. KSP: Custom UI graphics shows you how to import and use your own custom UI graphics in your Kontakt scripts and contains some tips and tricks you might find useful.
I have a few more tutorials regarding this to come so check back soon!
10th August 2010 » Masses of Sonic 2 Music
Lots of Sonic 2 music has been added. I've slowly been working through the soundtrack. These aren't orchestral remixes this time. I've simply brought the music up to date. This is how I'd imagine the music in Sonic 2 HD should sound..
Click a zone on the level select below to go straight to the MP3. Zones that are dimmed out are still in progress. Check back on this page often for updates!
5th July 2010 » Lots of new Kontakt content available
You've probably noticed, but there's quite a substantial amount of Kontakt content available on the site now that has slowly been building over the past few weeks. First up are the new Kontakt tutorials. Some of these are aimed at beginners, but a majority are more 'tips and tricks' for those who already know Kontakt script. The following tutorials are available:
Using scripts shows how to load existing scripts into instruments.
Custom knob UI details how to have custom knob ui controls.
Multithreading is a trick that allows you to spawn a new thread.
Animated icons gives a step by step guide on animating your UI.
Creating Background images shows how to have a background on a script that you don't have the rights to distribute the NKI for.
There's also various new scripts available to download in the Music section of the programs area of the site. You'll find some new Requiem scripts as well as a Pong game that was made for fun.
Lastly there's my new free Shhh sample library. This gives you ambient orchestra sounds to use in your compositions to give them a level of realism. This library is also powered by extensive Kontakt scripting that allows you to simulate completely random page turns, player noises and breathing. It fits in with any existing library and has been specifically created to sit on existing MIDI channels and require minimal to no effort to implement.
23rd June 2010 » More Kontakt scripts up in the programs section
First up, there are quite a few new pieces in the music section. I went through catpee dot net, looking for finished things that I had submitted to there but not here. They're now on the music page.
You'll also no doubt have noticed the new facebook like things around the site. You can now like pages and they'll appear on your facebook profile. Pretty cool! Like me if you have a spare moment. I tend to update on there as to what I'm doing.
Also, there are some more Kontakt 4 scripts in the programs section of the site. First up is a new version of my Syllable builder for Tonehammer's Requiem. There's also a new Poly-sustain Legato script that lets you play melodic passages with their poly-sustain patches.
You can see it in action in this YouTube video.
I've also started working on a new version of Syllabuild with a nicer, more 'Tonehammery' UI. Expect more news about this soon!
11th June 2010 » New Kontakt scripts
There are some new Kontakt 4 scripts in the programs section of the site. The first is a polyphonic legato Multi Script allow you to control multiple instruments (or divisi strings) using a single MIDI channel in Kontakt. It will intelligently play for each section.
The second is a script for Tonehammer's Requiem choir library. The QuickChant scripts allow you to program sequences for the staccato and marcato instruments in the library. These sequences will play back automatically when notes or chords are held. It also visually indicates which sections are playing legato. There are various options to change how it plays.
Download and use as you see fit. Credit is appreciated but not neccessary. If you're got any ideas, suggestions of bugs with the scripts feel free to contact me.
